Lampwork glass, also known as flameworking or torchworking, is a glass art technique where glass rods are melted using a torch and shaped into various forms. Alex uses this technique to create three dimensional beads and pendants that are one of a kind and highly detailed.
Alex primarily uses soda-lime or “soft” glass. She works with the glass at over 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, and it’s annealed in a kiln to make it strong and resistant to breaking.
